The Waste management service offers services to help reduce, reuse, and recycle household waste, as well as generate wider social benefits for communities in Greater Manchester.
From Sunday 31 March, recycling centres will be open even longer from 8am – 8pm, with the exception of one location which is open Monday – Saturday 8am – 8pm, Sunday & Bank Holidays 10am – 4pm.
Items donated at the recycling centres are repaired and renewed at the Renew Hub, ready to be resold to a new home. This helps to reduce waste and promote sustainability.
Residents can get involved by recycling their items in the correct bins at home, participating in free education sessions and tours, and learning about the benefits of waste management and recycling. By doing so, they contribute to the circular economy and help create a more sustainable future.
There is a £220,000 funding pot available for new, innovative green projects in Greater Manchester that focus on reducing, reusing, or recycling household waste, and generating wider social benefits for communities. This funding can help support initiatives that promote sustainability and environmental conservation.
