Visitors can expect to see more than 2,500 plants from around the world creating a stunning green world in the heart of the city. The building itself is 70 metres long and 22 metres high, making it one of the largest temperate glasshouses to be built in the UK during the last hundred years.
The Winter Garden provides a unique experience in the city centre, next to the Peace Gardens and the Millennium Galleries. Visitors can enjoy several retail units, as well as a stop for coffee and light refreshments. Access is also available to the Millennium Galleries where a wide range of refreshments and facilities are offered.
It's free to wander the garden and also the exhibitions, making it an accessible and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Visitors can get to the Winter Garden by public transport, bicycle, car, or on foot, making it easily accessible for everyone.
On occasion, the Winter Garden is closed for private events from 6pm. To avoid disappointment, visitors are advised to call in advance to check the availability. Other than that, visitors are welcome to explore the garden and exhibitions freely.
