The park is located in the City of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, 1.5 km west of the city centre between the districts of Upperthorpe and Netherthorpe.
The park has a rich history, with the upper part previously known as Crookesmoor Recreation Ground. It was originally an area of small dams built in the 18th century to impound local spring water to supply the town of Sheffield. During World War II, the park was used as a station for barrage balloons to defend the city.
The park is a great place to have a barbeque, hang out, or enjoy a sunny day. It offers a nice open space for relaxation and is quieter compared to other parks in the area. Additionally, it is conveniently located near residential properties and public transportation.
