The access code for the hide code system will now only be available from the nature centre.
The Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust is committed to fully reopening the public footpath and bridleway, despite the closure of the bridge. They are working towards raising funds to cover all associated costs for replacing the bridge.
The essential works on land adjacent to the nature reserve will result in an increase in construction traffic between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday. Access to the main car park and other parts of the nature reserve will not be affected, and visitors will still be welcomed to the shop and cafe as usual.
The Works Bridge has been closed due to serious structural defects, ensuring public safety. Footpath diversions are in place to guide visitors safely around the closed section of the path.
The Trust has worked closely with the project management team and contractors to minimize the impact of the works on visitors, wildlife, and infrastructure. They have set specific working hours for construction traffic, implemented temporary disruptions, and provided guidance for visitors to remain vigilant during their visit.
