The purpose of the Fred Roche Foundation is to keep the spirit of creative exploration, innovation, and strength of vision alive, celebrate the life and achievements of Fred Roche, and stimulate creative discussion and debate around critical subjects related to the character and vitality of the city.
The Fred Roche Gardens are located in the heart of the city center, behind Christ the Cornerstone church and The Guildhall, and are overlooked by offices on Silbury and Midsummer Boulevards in Central Milton Keynes.
The gardens include lawns, borders, formal features, quiet seating areas, and a remnant of a lane predating Milton Keynes. Additionally, there are sculptures by Bernard Schottlander that are given an attractive setting.
Fred Roche was the first General Manager of Milton Keynes Development Corporation and played a seminal role in the creation of the city. His vision, leadership, and foresight helped deliver a radical master plan that provided the foundation for the New City to grow into the extraordinary place it is today.
Individuals can support the Fred Roche Foundation by becoming a Friend of FRF and making a financial contribution through the membership scheme. This helps fund the aims of the Foundation and support future challenges.
