Are you a fan of the Premier League and more specifically of the Chelsea Football Club team? Here are some tips for getting tickets and maybe supporting your favorite team!
Stamford Bridge: home of Chelsea Football Club
Opened on April 28, 1877, Stamford Bridge is one of England's oldest football grounds. For 27 years, the stadium was mainly dedicated to athletics where the London Athletic Club played.
In 1904, the Scottish Gus Mears bought his brother Stamford Bridge and decided to build a large football stadium to attract the club of Fuhlman. Following the latter's refusal, Mears created his own football club, Chelsea, which then became the resident club.
A year later, on September 4, 1905, Chelsea played their first match at Stamford Bridge and received Liverpool in a friendly match.
Located in Walham Green in the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, Stamford Bridge can currently accommodate over 41 spectators.
In 2017, the Mayor of London gave Chelsea the green light to build a new 60-seat stadium on the current site of Stamford Bridge.
