The main focus of the museum is to showcase the largest collection of British motorcycles in the world, with over 1000 machines from 170 different manufacturers spanning three centuries.
The museum is located directly on the J6 island of the M42 motorway, directly opposite the NEC near Solihull in the West Midlands.
Visitors can expect to see around 850 British motorcycles on display at any one time throughout the museum's five huge display halls. The collection includes machines dating from 1898 to the latest British superbikes of this century, highlighting the development of the motorcycle and the UK's proud motorcycle manufacturing heritage.
The museum formed Team National Motorcycle Museum Racing in 2015 to showcase some of its competition inventory by contesting races, such as the F1 race in the Isle of Man Classic TT. The team exists to showcase the museum's competition inventory as it was originally intended to be used - back on track.
Visitors can expect friendly and knowledgeable staff who are able to help with queries about the British motorcycles in the museum collection. The staff have decades of combined experience and are dedicated to making visitors' experiences informative and enjoyable.
